Connecticut is the 48th most populous state in the United States and is located in the northeastern region of the country. It is bordered by Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, and Long Island Sound. With an area of 5,567 square miles, Connecticut is the 29th largest state by area in the US. Connecticut has 166 school districts that serve students across the state. These districts are organized on a county-wide basis and are primarily funded through local taxes as well as state and federal grants.
