National trails in New Hampshire
The Appalachian Trail is a hiking route that stretches along the Appalachian mountain range from Maine in the north to Georgia in the south and is very popular in the United States. About 259 km of the trail passes through New Hampshire, almost entirely through the White Mountains National Forest.

New Hampshire Fifty States Quarter Dollar
The New Hampshire Fifty States Quarter Dollar coin depicts the Old Man of the Mountain, an oddly shaped granite cliff resembling the contours of a human face, on Mount Cannon in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This rock ledge was one of the state’s landmarks until its collapse in 2003. Now a memorial has been created in its place, reminiscent of the outlines of the original “Stone Face”.
The inscription on the coin reads Live Free or Die (“Live free or die”, the official motto of the state of New Hampshire).
America the Beautiful
One of the quarter dollar coins from the America the Beautiful series is dedicated to the White Mountains National Forest, located in the state of New Hampshire.
The coin depicts Mount Chokorua, one of the most picturesque peaks in the state, as well as, in the foreground, birch trees.
The inscription on the coin reads White Mountain (“White Mountains”).
