GRE Test Dates
There are two types of test format offered by the test maker – ETS: Computer-delivered and Paper-delivered GRE general tests. For computer based test format, the GRE General Test is offered year-round on a continuous basis, and available for registration on a first-come, first-served basis. For paper based general test, testing is available three times per year. The following test dates apply:

Massachusetts Overview
The state of Massachusetts is located in the Northeastern United States in New England. It borders the states of New York to the west, Vermont and New Hampshire to the north, Connecticut and Rhode Island to the south. To the east, the coast of Massachusetts is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
The relief of Massachusetts gradually rises from east to west, from the Atlantic lowlands to the Appalachians. In the east of the state, the sandy peninsula of Cape Cod stretched out into the ocean, to the south of it there are two large islands (Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket) and several small ones. To the west, the Connecticut River Valley separates the coastal lowlands from the Berkshire Hills. Further inland, beyond the ranges of hills and the valley of the Housatonic River, lies the Taconic Mountain Range.
The Massachusetts Bay Colony, which later became the state of Massachusetts, got its name from the Indian people “Massachusett” (massachusett), who lived on the territory of the future state. The word “Massachusett” is translated as “by the big hill” or “people living near the big hill”. Probably, we are talking about the Great Blue Hill (Big Blue Hill), located near modern Boston.
Massachusetts has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Precipitation falls fairly evenly throughout the year.
The first European explorers saw the coast of modern Massachusetts at the beginning of the 17th century, and already in 1620 the settlers (who went down in history as the Pilgrim Fathers) who arrived on the legendary Mayflower, founded the Plymouth Colony. A year later, having harvested, the colonists invited the Indians to the celebration, who helped the Europeans survive the first, most difficult and often hungry winter. This event laid the foundation for the tradition known today in the US as one of the most popular American holidays, Thanksgiving Day. In 1630, Boston was founded – the “capital” of New England and the oldest of the major cities in the United States.
Massachusetts played a pivotal role in the independence of the United States. It was here that the movement of American patriots was born, it was here that the famous “Boston Tea Party” took place, it was here that the first victories in the war with the metropolis were won.
In the 19th century, the state experienced rapid growth, becoming one of the leaders of the American Industrial Revolution. Also, Massachusetts has always been (and remains) one of the most progressive states: the death penalty was abolished here, an active struggle against slavery was waged (and slavery was prohibited in the state itself).
In the past century, the Gulf State experienced a period of decline associated with the Great Depression. Modern Massachusetts is one of the largest centers of higher education in the United States, science-intensive technologies are actively developing here, including biological and information technologies.
The largest city (and capital) of Massachusetts is Boston, where about 700,000 people live (and in the agglomeration formed around the city – more than 4,800,000 people).
