USA symbol flower
In 1986, the US Congress decided to recognize the rose as the flower symbol of the United States.
The law that declares the rose the symbol of the United States states:
“Americans have always loved the flowers with which God adorns our land. More than any other flower, we hold roses in our hands as a symbol of life, love, devotion, beauty and eternity. To speak of the love of a man and a woman, of love for humanity and God, about love for their country, Americans who speak the language of the heart will say it with a rose.
We have always cultivated roses in our gardens. Our first president, George Washington, grew roses, and he named the variety he bred after his mother. This variety of roses is grown today. The White House boasts the most beautiful Rose Garden. We grow roses in all of our fifty states. We find roses in all our art, music and literature. We decorate our celebrations and parades with roses…
The American people have long reserved a special place in their hearts for roses. Let’s continue to cherish them, in honor of the love and devotion they symbolize, and to give them to those we love just as God has given them to us.”
It is symbolic that the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, signed a resolution establishing the status of the official flower symbol of the United States in the Rose Garden of the White House for the rose.
Rose flowers are the symbol of the states of New York and Oklahoma, and the wild rose is the symbol of the states of Iowa, Georgia and North Dakota.
Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam (Hoover Dam, Boulder Dam) is one of the largest and probably the most famous dam in the United States. It is built on the border of the states of Nevada and Arizona in the narrow Black Canyon formed by the Colorado River. The Hoover Dam is not only a large hydroelectric power plant, but also the main component of the reclamation and flood protection system in the southwestern United States.
The Hoover Dam, located forty kilometers from Las Vegas, is included in the “must-see” list of tourists in the “Entertainment Capital of the World” tourists (as well as the famous Grand Canyon) and is one of the most popular US attractions.
