| UNM leads in four areas. Each student must practice law in a clinic under a full-time professor before graduating. The Indian Law Program is the oldest and largest in the US and offers the Tribal Law Journal and a certificate option. The Natural Resources Certificate Program offers the oldest resources journal in the US. The International Program is anchored by summer study in Guanajuato, Mexico. |

| UNM students publish the Natural Resources Journal, New Mexico Law Review and Tribal Law Journal. Students compete in national contests in subjects ranging from health law to animal law to civil rights. They practice arguments in the Court of Appeals bldg next to the law school. UNM’s student organizations represent diverse backgrounds and interests. Students also extern with judges and lawyers. |

UNM Law School is located in Bratton Hall on the north edge of the UNM campus. The architecture is a blend of southwestern and modern styles. Bratton Hall is constructed around a large forum that connects all wings of the building. The Library, located in Bratton Hall, is the largest legal research facility in New Mexico, offering services to the school community as well as to the general public. |

Because UNM is a small school with a strong alumni base that has no local competition and because its graduates make up around 100 of the 350 or more bar applicants in NM each year, students tend to have a strong advantage in job hunting in the public and private sectors.
