Students must thrive in an academically rigorous setting that values intellectual exchange. Leadership and management experiences, confidential evaluations, two essays on career goals, work experiences and accomplishments are evaluated. Equally important, are GPAs, selected major, electives, GMAT and TOEFL scores. Applicants may be invited to interview after submission of a complete application |
Executive program |
Executive candidates must possess a strong desire to learn and the ability to meet the program’s time and intellectual demands. Ten years of work experience, undergraduate degree, GMAT (waived with graduate degree), TOEFL scores, 2 confidential evaluations, a professional resume and 2 essays are required. Exceptional applicants with less than 10 years of work experience may be considered. |
Part-time program |
Applicants must demonstrate academic aptitude, quantitative analytical skills, management potential and diverse work experiences. Confidential evaluations, two essays on career goals, work experiences and accomplishments are evaluated. GPAs, selected major, electives, GMAT and TOEFL scores are reviewed. Full-time program |
Taught on weekdays, the 22 month program requires 60 credits to graduate and is best described as ‘total immersion’. Rigorous core courses, participation in a 10 week team-based Action Learning Project (ALP) and summer internships make up year one. Course loads in year two are composed entirely of electives and students may select 1 or 2 functional and cross-functional areas of concentration. |
Executive program |
The Rice MBA for Executives focuses on career acceleration. Classes meet on alternating weekends over 22 months and graduation requires 57 credits. Each semester comprises 2 terms with an Intensive Learning Weekend (ILW) in-between. The program while small enough to provide individual attention,offers twice the elective classes found elsewhere. The same faculty teach in all the MBA programs. |
Part-time program |
Designed for working professionals, the Rice MBA for Professionals meets 2 evenings a week or on alternating weekends over 22 months. The core curriculum provides the student with a solid business foundation. Students take a minimum of 8 electives based on career goals with 54 credits required for graduation. The same faculty teach in all the MBA programs. |
