EVMS requires academic excellence of those students admitted to the medical school. Academic ability is gauged by performance in undergraduate courses and scores on the MCAT. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the role of the physician, and an appreciation for the interactive and caring nature of the practitioner. Preference to applicants from Virginia, especially Hampton Roads.
