There are two types of test format available for IELTS exams: paper-based or computer-delivered. For both formats, the Speaking Section is done with a real IELTS examiner on a face-to-face basis.

Law
The multi-level court structure consists of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, high courts, district, local and other courts of first instance. The judges of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal are appointed by the President of the Republic. – The legal system is mainly influenced by Roman-Dutch law, English common law, Islamic law and customary law.
Media
Press: The press has been subject to censorship since 1995. The newspaper and magazine market is shared by five large press groups; leading newspaper group is the government’s Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd. (Lake House Group, founded in 1926, state-owned since 1973), The largest daily newspapers are “Lankadeepa” (founded 1986; appears in English and Sinhala), “Dinamina” (founded 1909; Sinhalese), “Daily News” (founded 1918; English), “The Island” (founded 1981; English). The Sunday newspapers include “Irida Lankadeepa” (Sinhala), “Silumina” (founded 1930; Sinhala), “The Nation” (founded 2006; English), “Sunday Observer” (founded 1923; English) and “The Sunday Times «(founded 1986; English and Sinhala).
News agencies are the state-owned Lankapuvath (founded in 1978) and TamilNet (founded in 1997).
Broadcast: The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation / SLBC (including seven national channels and regional stations), founded in 1967 (as Ceylon Broadcasting Corporation / CBC; name until 1972) and subordinated to the state, broadcasts radio in Sinhala, Tamil and English as well as in five other languages of the Indian subcontinent. There is also the mission broadcasting station “Trans World Radio” (TWR) and other private radio stations, including “Colombo Communications” (launched in 1999; three stations; Sinhala, English), “MBC Networks” (founded 1993; four stations; Sinhala, Tamil, English) and “TNL Radio Network” (founded 1993; three stations; Sinhala, English). State TV stations are: “Independent Television Network” (founded 1979; Sinhala, Tamil, English; also has three radio stations; Sinhala, Tamil, English) and the “Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation” (Sinhala, Tamil, English). Private television companies are: “EAP Network” (founded 1997; two channels; Sinhala, English), “MTV Channel” (founded 1992; three channels; Sinhala, Tamil, English), “Telshan Network”.
