National Seashore in Wisconsin
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore (“Apostle Islands”) includes twenty-one islands, as well as a section of the coast of Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin. The coast is known for beautiful landscapes, a variety of wildlife, several old lighthouses.
National Scenic Rivers in Wisconsin Territory
The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway is located in northwestern Wisconsin and east of the neighboring state of Minnesota. This is a system of river routes with a length of more than four hundred kilometers (the largest of which are the Sainte-Croix and Neimcagon rivers), as well as the lands adjacent to them.
National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin
The Ice Age National Science Reserve includes several sites with well-preserved geological evidence of glaciation.
National trails in Wisconsin
The Ice Age Trail, which stretches (with numerous branches) for more than 1,900 kilometers from the shores of Lake Michigan to the border with Minnesota. Passes mainly along the “terminal moraine” – a geological formation left by glaciation.
The North Country Trail (“Northern Trail”) is a walking route from New York State in the east to North Dakota in the west.
