New York is a US state, off the Atlantic coast, near the border with Canada, the largest among the group of Mid-Atlantic states. The state of New York is adjacent to the states of Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut from the east, from the southeast the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania from the south of the state, from the west are lakes Erie and Ontario, in the north it borders with the province of Quebec.
The main part of the area of the state is occupied by the Appalachians, which reach a height of 1628 m in Mount Adirondage. The lowlands are found off Ontario and on Long Island. The climate is humid and temperate.
ECONOMY
New York is one of the most populated and developed states in the US in terms of economy. New York City is a leading city in banking, securities trading and other financial matters. The city’s main gross income comes from real estate and other financial activities.
A lot of other industrial and industrial activities are also developed in the state. Fishing is developed along the coast of the ocean. The transport network is widely deployed. Among the industry, one can note such areas as: the extraction of salt, stone, sand. Production of building materials, abrasives, electrical engineering.
