Full-time program
Candidates must show potential for success in global environment; demonstrated analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and outstanding academic achievement. Interviews are offered by invitation. Completed applications contain transcripts, GMAT, TOEFL/PTE (international), two professional references,essays,and resume.
Executive program
The Cox EMBA Program admits diverse and experienced professionals in mid-to-senior level management positions seeking to leverage their work experience. Candidates should have at least 8 years of work experience. The application requires 2 essays, a personal goal worksheet detailing their plan during and after the program, resume & cover letter, transcripts, two recommendations, and an interview.
Part-time program
Those with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years work experience are encouraged to apply for the SMU Cox PMBA. We seek to admit well-rounded individuals who have clearly demonstrated academic achievement and leadership capacity. Applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis. Interviews are conducted at the discretion of the admissions committee.

Full-time program
MBAs participate in the Global Leadership Program in preparation for a mandatory two-week trip to China, India, or Europe. Students can enhance leadership and communications skills through the Business Leadership Center, which offers seminars taught by business leaders from the community. MBAs have access to a network of 260+ mentors as part of our Associate Board Mentoring Program.
Executive program
The 21-month Cox EMBA enhances the ability to think, plan, and act strategically in a competitive global market. Pre-program workshops and tutorials assist in transitioning back to the classroom. Study groups act as consulting teams on a global trip. Expert, tenured faculty and adjunct thought leaders teach classes that meet Fridays and Saturdays on alternating weekends starting each August.
Part-time program
The first third of this working professionals program is composed of core courses. The remaining coursework is made up of electives. Seven optional international study opportunities help students compare and contrast political climates and business practices. Benefits like the Business Leadership Center and the Associate Board Mentoring Program enhance leadership skills and career insight.
