Full-time program
The Tippie MBA program seeks candidates with excellent academic ability and strong potential for success in a professional environment. Official GMAT scores are required. Ideal candidates have clear records of leadership in school, work, and/or the community and professional work experience. Interviews are required as part of a campus visit or, by invitation, via telephone.
Executive program
Avg. class member age is 37 w/14 years post-baccalaureate work experience. A formal application, corporate letter of sponsorship, GMAT, college transcripts & campus interview are all required to complete the application process. Program begins with a 5-day residency week in mid-August & ends 21 months later with graduation in May of the second year. Classes meet on alternating Fridays & Saturdays.
Part-time program
Applications are accepted year round for initial enrollment in the academic semesters. Admission decisions are based upon an assessment of relevant factors including post-baccalaureate professional work experience, academic performance, quality of recommendations, and GMAT scores. The Admissions Committee reviews completed applications only. Their decision is shared in writing and by phone.

Full-time program
Tippie’s 21-month MBA program delivers: 1)a career path approach-business fundamentals in the fall and career academies thereafter enhance student’s marketability,2) numerous opportunities to apply theory in corporate projects, 3)global experiences in a variety of worldwide locations, 4) MBA activities that develop a passion for ethical behavior, corporate integrity, and social responsibility.
Executive program
The program begins with a seminar in strategic management. The 1st year builds a foundation across business disciplines. An intensive simulation starts the 2nd year, which includes advanced & integrative courses; bus. law/ethics, org. dynamics, strategic management, & an international bus. seminar. Seasoned faculty use case studies, lecture, guest speakers, experiential exercises & team projects.
Part-time program
The curriculum maximizes flexibility for professionals across Iowa in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines & Quad Cities. 9 core courses build the foundations of business. 6 electives offer specialization in marketing, finance, management and entrepreneurship. Faculty use lectures, case studies, experiential exercises, and team projects. Courses are offered all year in 12-week sessions and weekend formats.
